For more information, please contact us.

Taking place in our Home and Garden area on Sunday 28th January from 10:45am

Printmaking is an exciting and versatile art form used by many great artists including
Leonardo Da Vinci, Picasso and Grayson Perry, whose latest exhibition features several
woodcuts. It is also an art form that is surprisingly quick and easy to learn with the
Tower St Print Project, who teach printmaking in their studio in Ipswich, where even
complete beginners find they can create work to be proud of.
The Tower St Print Project is run by Oyster Community Press, a not for profit arts
organisation that has been delivering nationally acclaimed arts projects in Suffolk since 2015. Here's
what some of their students say "It was a great morning. You are fun tutors and we all
produced prints to be proud of. You had us doing Reduction Lino printing in three hours..
awesome is the word!"
If you would like to try your hand at printmaking this year you are in luck, as the Tower St Print
Project will be demonstrating Linocutting techniques and holding free 'Have a Go' sessions on
Sunday 28th of January at the Suffolk Foodhall in Ipswich. You will be able to watch a Linocut print
being made and then try your hand at using printmaking tools to create and print your own piece of
art. There will also be chance to buy original Linocuts and to book a place on one of the new spring
workshops available at the Tower St Print Project, to learn more about this colourful and expressive
art form.
Al Smyth, Artistic Director said “We can show people who have no previous experience of
printmaking how to create lino-cuts and etchings in a friendly, social atmosphere, at the Tower St
Print Project, so that they can create their own wonderful art.”
All workshops at the Tower St Print Project are delivered by an experienced team with a relaxed
approach that helps everyone achieve great results. Materials and light refreshments are included in
the price and you will take home your own art, ready to frame or make into Greetings Cards.
