Watercolours... until 14th May

"I was born in Lincolnshire, and then moved to Suffolk at the age of 6. After leaving school at the age of 18 with an extensive range of exams, I worked as a secretary, until I took a job as a dresser at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds, where I also did lighting and propping. So with an obvious love for theatre, I decided to go to Ipswich to do my foundation year in Art, and then followed on with a further three years at the central school of art, London and gained a BA (Hons) degree in Theatre and Costume Design.

I worked in the business for many years, working freelance, on a variety of shows from the West End, television, from the Muppet show to Glyndebourne Opera House.

Wanting to come back to the countryside, I took a change in direction and started to paint. Since the 1980’s I have developed my style, which is distillation of the landscape and being drawn to the sea have tended to paint that. In the last few months I have rediscovered drawing and am enjoying exploring this medium."
