Food Hall

... the finest market place for quality local produce.

Our butchery has built a strong reputation on traditional service with contemporary products. Much of our beef is our own pedigree Red Poll herd; likewise our pork is our own... that's why, after only 3 years trading, we won the Best On Farm Butcher in Britain.

The 8,000 square foot Hall, in a converted cattle barn, has become the home of the best food that Suffolk has to offer. As well as our core selection of store cupboard staples and epicurean essentials, the Food Hall is also home to much that brings originality back.

Our delicatessen is stuffed with a wide range of cheese, plus delicious antipasti, tarts, pies, quiches and a great choice of charcuterie: much of the cured meat is local and many ready-to-eat items are prepared in the commercial kitchens in the Cookhouse.

The wet fish counter is a visual spectacle with a fantastic display of fresh local fish, plus more exotic catches from further afield. Talk to the fishmongers, Andy and the boys, about how to cook your fish. Open every day including Sunday.

We rely on a network of local market gardeners and farmers, including our own farm, for our fruit and veg. We celebrate the local seasons and we always have the standard citrus fruits etc by collecting them directly from importers at Spitalfields.

Our own bakers start early to bake fresh bread from scratch every morning. From the humble bloomer to focaccias, speciality loaves, and more...

Wine & Beer Merchant

Not only have we picked a fantastic selection of world wines, spirits and beers from East Anglian breweries, but we've also got a great range of English wines from local independent vineyards such as Giffords Hall and Lavenham Brook.

We're lucky to have a Charbonnel et Walker concession, one of Britain's oldest chocolatiers, for your indulgence.

Café & Beach Hut

The Café in the Food Hall is also open for teas and coffees, cakes and toasted ciabattas. As well as serving the balcony, the terrace and the Jumping Pillow, there is a Beach Hut selling Criterion ice cream. Tables for full dining in the Cookhouse restaurant can be reserved from the Café.

Don't forget, you can Order On-line and collect from the Food Hall

or we have a set price delivery nationwide (£9.95) irrespective of weight or number of boxes
